Kidchella Returns to Surfers Paradise
After a dazzling debut in 2024, Kidchella is back in 2025—bigger, brighter, and bursting with fun for kids of all ages! On the weekend of 19–20 July, Surfers Paradise will once again transform into a vibrant mini music festival, specially designed for our youngest festival fans.
Last year’s event saw families dancing in the streets, kids glittering with glam bar sparkle, and the iconic Ferris wheel offering stunning ocean views from above. The atmosphere was electric and the smiles said it all. Now, with the return of this much-loved family event, Kidchella 2025 promises another weekend full of unforgettable moments.
Here’s what to expect at Kidchella 2025:
Dance Party with DJ Pia Pressure
12pm – 2pm daily
Bringing the beats back to the beach, DJ Pia Pressure will fire up the dance floor with a kid-friendly DJ set guaranteed to get the little ones moving and grooving.
Coachella-Inspired Ferris Wheel
Saturday: 10am – 9pm | Sunday: 10am – 4pm
Take a free spin on our glittering Ferris wheel and soak up the spectacular sights of the Surfers Paradise skyline and coastline.
Art Studio
10am – 4pm daily
Creativity takes centre stage at the festival’s hands-on art studio. Children can craft their very own festival-themed artwork in this colourful, curated space.
Glam Bar
10am – 4pm daily
Festival flair comes to life at the Glam Bar. Add a splash of sparkle, face glitter or vibrant festival makeup to complete the perfect Kidchella look.
Skateboarding Workshops
10am – 4pm daily
Perfect for energetic kids, these workshops offer a chance to learn basic skateboarding skills with the help of expert coaches. Boards and helmets provided.
Silent Disco
11am – 12pm and 2pm – 3pm daily
For children who prefer a more sensory-friendly experience, the silent disco provides a joyful space to dance at their own pace. Headphones provided, with a choice of music channels.
Basketball
10am – 4pm daily
Bring your own basketball and shoot some hoops! The court will be open for free play and friendly games throughout the day.

Art Studio Magic
The Art Studio was one of the standout features of last year’s event. Over two creative-filled days, young artists immersed themselves in painting, drawing and hands-on activities at a variety of art stations. Guided by experienced artists and enthusiastic volunteers, children explored different techniques and mediums. Many proudly displayed their creations in pop-up galleries, beaming with pride. The space not only nurtured artistic expression but also inspired a strong sense of community, creativity and confidence—setting the tone for even more colourful moments at Kidchella 2025.
Skating Champs
Last year’s skate workshops saw some fantastic future champions take to the decks for the very first time. Fully kitted out in safety gear, these young skaters stepped up to the ramps with courage and enthusiasm.
The sessions helped them build physical skills like balance, coordination and strength, while also encouraging perseverance and self-belief. As they learned new tricks and overcame their fears, it was clear that skating offered more than just fun—it became an exciting way for kids to stay active while developing important life skills.
