2025 Pacific Airshow Surfers Paradise Cancelled
It is with deep regret that we announce the cancellation of the 2025 Pacific Airshow Gold Coast, originally scheduled for August 15–17 in Surfers Paradise. This difficult decision follows extensive damage to the coastline caused by Ex-Tropical Cyclone Alfred, which removed over 4 million cubic metres of sand from the beaches. Despite ongoing restoration efforts, recurring king tides and large swells have significantly hindered recovery, particularly along the Surfers Paradise foreshore—the intended venue for the event.
Airshow Director Kevin Elliott expressed the team's devastation but emphasized that the cancellation is necessary to prioritize long-term beach restoration and spectator safety. Attempts to reschedule or relocate the event proved unfeasible without compromising safety and show quality.
All ticket holders will receive full refund options. Despite this setback, the event saw record pre-sale ticket numbers and is confirmed to return from August 14 to 16 in 2026. Gold Coast Mayor Tom Tate and Experience Gold Coast CEO John Warn expressed support for the decision and confidence in the event’s future success, reaffirming their commitment to making it one of Australia’s top family-oriented gatherings.
We share in your disappointment but remain committed to returning in 2026 — bigger and better than ever. Thank you for your understanding and continued support. We can't wait to welcome you back to the Gold Coast next year!
Stay safe and see you in 2026.
