Esplanade Road Closure
Actions for busineess owners

Complete an independent survey, write to the people that matter, join those who care.
If Surfers Paradise does not speak up now then opinions from suburban Gold Coast will blunt our future.
Business Owners & Building Managers
A Surfers Paradise Business group
One voice alone can be dismissed easily. A group of representatives has significantly more sway. The Surfers Paradie Alliance (SPA) was dissolved by the Council 5 years ago. It was replaced with nothing. There are no moves to make one. It is up to us.
With a modest sized group of 20 to 50 business leaders we can be far more successful in gaining media traction and calling for Town Hall meetings with those making the decisons.

The Stakeholder Engagement Team (SET)
Letters can be sent to the Stakeholder Engagement Team. The SET have invited businesses to be part of the feedback process, to join a Business Advisory Panel. The window of invitation was 5 days from: Friday, 10 October 2025 11:29 AM to 15 October, so it could be understandable if you missed out. But that does not exclude you from being able to write or complete the survey.
Surveys
A series of three business surveys are planned. The first was posted on 17 October, 2025. It is listed below
Letters
From the gchaveyoursay.com.au is the following: If you have a particular question about the trial pedestrianisation for the Surfers Paradise Esplanade, the SET are the people to email.

GC Have Your Say Survey
Till 16 November. Note this survey’s questions are heavily loaded. They have a narrow positive framing focussed on a small set of benefits. Make good use of the comments section.

Sending a letter to Council can be backed up by forwarding a copy to us. With your permission we can also put it on this website as an open letter.
